Round One - Valencia

The driver from Valencia Adrián Campos Junior achieved a clean and dominant victory in the first race of the European F3 Open that took place today at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo.
The local driver controlled the race from start to finish after inheriting the pole position due to the penalties received by some drivers that stepped on the white line that limits the entrance to the garages. Campos had been second of the grid with a time of 1'30'960, 211 thousandths behind the Italian driver of the Emilio De Villota team, Samuele Buttarelli, who set the best time in the qualifying.
Adrián Campos gave no option to his rivals and slowly built a comfortable advantage ahead of the group spearheaded by the Italian driver of RP Motorsport, Stefano Bizzarri. Third position was for the Finnish driver of RP Motorsport, Jesse Krohn, who started from the second position but was overtaken by his teammate. Krohn was the first driver with a Dallara F306 to cross the finish line.

Campos reached the chequered flag eight with an advantage of eight seconds after a faultless race, where he also set the fastest lap, with a time of 1:32.285. Campos will start the second race that will be held at 12:30 on Sunday from the sixth position, as the order will be inverted for the first six places.
Bruno Méndez was one of the drivers who spiced the race, as he improved from his starting 19th to the fourth position. "The race has even been a bit boring; the most exciting thing was the start, when Bizzarri tried to overtake me. In the first part of the race, everything was perfect. Then I had some oversteering due to the temperature on track, but I already had eight seconds and I was able to relax a bit", said Campos after the podium. "In the second race I will try to be in the highest position possible.
In this circuit it is very difficult to overtake, but I have to focus on achieving as many points as I can", stated the young driver, who already thinks in his overall championship position.

From the Cup competitors, who use the Dallara 306 chassis, the winner was Jesse Krohn, who was third overall, followed by Toño Fernández (8th overall), and the British driver Callum Macleod (9th overall).
