Callum Macleod took a flawless victory at Jerez for Motul Team West-Tec as the 2010 European F3 Open visited the fabulous Spanish F1 test track on its annual visit to Andalucia.
In a qualifying session dominated by penalties for drivers for continually exceeding the track limits Callum eventually lined up fifth with Victor seventh, and Michael in a best ever tenth.
For race one, Callum made a good start to leap to fourth with Victor following immediately behind and leading Copa. Unable to pass Barba, despite being generally quicker, Callum eventually dropped back to sixth which gave him pole position for Sunday’s race two. Victor was annoyingly bumped from behind at the hairpin and dropped to third in Copa, a position he then held to the end.
On Sunday Callum made an immaculate start to lead from archrival Barba. These two then put on a superlative display to finish an amazing 30 seconds clear with never much more than a second between them, and Callum holding the lead throughout although the result allow the experienced Spaniard to clinch the series title.
Victor made a great start as well, and was leading Copa again, being up to fifth overall early on and embroiled in a tremendous scrap for the Copa win, eventually being part of a six car battle covered by just a couple of seconds to record his second Copa podium of the weekend.
The series now heads for its traditional finale at Barcelona, the home of the Spanish Grand Prix, over the last weekend in October.

Callum Macleod: I was very happy to win, but also disappointed to have lost the chance to win the title. We have had a very good year though, with three wins so far, and this has now set me up nicely for testing GP3 at Jerez this week.
John Miller, Motul Team West-Tec: Callum gave a perfect demonstration on Sunday and dominated the race. Congratulations to Marco Barba too as he and Callum showed clearly why they have been the class of the field this year.
